Nothing brings greater joy into my life and the life of my family,
than to be the Pastor of such an exciting church. God has blessed me with a wonderful wife (Elena) who
offers great support toward kingdom ministry. He has also blessed us both with four wonderful children,
two girls and two boys. They're adults now and all four have each given their life to Christ.
We now have three grandchildren and we thank the Lord every day for His blessings toward us. This
past summer, I had the great pleasure of Baptizing our oldest grandson (Austin). Thrift Baptist Church
is a very special place, and I'm excited that my entire family calls "Thrift” home. I've been
pastor here since June 1, 1997 and pray that the Lord will leave me here forever. And by the way, we love
visitors. If you're looking for a church family, look no further, Thrift is here for you.
Charles Williams God
sent me to Thrift Baptist Church 7+ years ago. He used the scripture Joshua 1:9 which says "Remember that I command
you to be strong and brave. Don't be afraid, because the Lord God will be with you everywhere you go." He has been
with me and blessed me ever since I came to Thrift. I have a wonderful wife named Peggy, 3 sons and 1 daughter.
We also have 11 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. We would love to have you come and worship with us and get the
"Thrift excitement." We have a little of both contemporary and traditional in our worship service
so that everyone can enjoy.

Josh Lathan I was born on
March 15th, 1987 in Monroe, NC. I was raised in a great church home where the family was at church every time the doors were
open. It was not until the beginning of my fifth grade year that my family moved to Charlotte, when my dad became pastor at
Thrift Baptist Church. From the time I was a little boy, I wanted to be a meteorologist. Going through ROTC all four years
in high school, I was able to receive a 4-year ROTC scholarship that would allow me to go to the Air Force with a meteorology
degree at UNC-C. I was in the UNC-C program for a semester and a half. However, God had other plans in my life as the revelation
of my purpose in life slowly rose to the surface. I had a burden for the youth group so I started helping out with them.
This grew into an immense passion. I knew that God was beginning to open my eyes to his plan. Weather was a fascinating hobby
of mine, but not my purpose. I yielded my control over to Jesus Christ. God opened the door and I am now the current youth
minister at Thrift Baptist Church and feel great letting God be God. I have a wife named Nicolette. I am attending Fruitland
Baptist Bible Institute to receive my associate degree in Pastoral Studies, then go on to receive my Bachelor's in Christian
Studies at North Greenville University. However, my true plan is to follow God's will and do accordingly.
